With just a few simple ingredients you can make the easiest pizza in minutes. Doughy and oozing with cheese, these pizza waffles are the perfect treat!
Well January went by pretty quickly. I was struck down with food poisoning and the flu for nearly all of it and am only just starting to bake again. Mega. Sad. Face.
Not being able to whip up a batch of cookies or chocolate banana loaf has pretty much crushed me. But I don't think anyone really wants a side of my cold mixed in. Nah, didn't think so.
So I'm pretty excited for February because I've decided now is the start of my goals I'm setting for myself. January was pretty much a wash out, I've decided it just doesn't count! So I got together a list as long as my arm, quite literally, of all the things I want to get baking in the coming months.
Hint: There's lots of funfetti.
However first on the list were these super easy, cheats pizza waffles that can be made and eaten within half about 15 minutes (this does not include the clean up time, yikes). Because everyone needs a bit more pizza in their life.
Having seen it on Buzzfeed's Tasty, I couldn't resist making them on a cold, miserable Saturday. These with a cuppa will solve all your problems and fill you with the biggest warm fluffy feeling imaginable. That's a promise.
Suggested serving is one whole waffle. Yes, the whole thing. Then dip it in some pizza marinara sauce. Yum. If you don't already have a waffle maker, I would highly advise at investing in one or popping it on a birthday wishlist. I got mine for Christmas two years ago and have re-fallen in love with it again recently... however, I do kinda hate that the plates aren't removable.
Cleaning waffles irons can be a right pain if mixture over flows, or you just get a bit cheese-happy with your pizza waffles...

Easy Pizza Waffles
Ingredients:
Pizza dough (ready made and bought is easiest)
Pizza sauce
Mozzarella
Toppings of your choosing (pepperoni, bacon, peppers, chicken, etc)
Basil (optional)
Directions:
- Prepare your ingredients to one side, shredding or slicing up the mozarella. Once everything is ready, roll out your pizza dough and divide the dough so you have enough for a top and a bottom. Mine came pre-rolled (ultimate cheat) and it divided up into four pieces, making two waffles.
- Turn your waffle maker on to a medium heat level and spray with a non stick cooking spray. When it has heated up, place your first piece of dough on the bottom iron. Then spread your pizza sauce on top, followed by cheese and your chosen toppings. Sprinkle with basil then place the second piece of pizza dough on top and close the lid.
- Cook for roughly 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown. Carefully remove your pizza waffle and serve with a selection of dips.
